You can file a complaint and submit applications for licensing online. Filings you do not wish to make, or that are not available, online can be submitted via mail for processing.

Department staff is available to assist with any questions at (800) 922-1594 (toll free in SC) or 803-734-4200 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding State holidays. You can also email general questions to scdca@scconsumer.gov

Registered Creditors

The Registered Creditors Program includes filings for Consumer Credit Grantor Notification (including rent-to-own), Maximum Rate Schedules (including credit card disclosures), and Motor Vehicle Dealers. Please see the Filing Instructions and Flowchart below, along with each program's individual page, for additional information on filing requirements.

Renewals and Expiration

Annual renewal begins November 1 and ends January 31, but initial filings and updates may be made anytime during the year.

Filings expire January 31 of each year.

To avoid a late penalty, all renewal filing forms and fees must be submitted online or postmarked by January 31.
