You can file a complaint and submit applications for licensing online. Filings you do not wish to make, or that are not available, online can be submitted via mail for processing.

Department staff is available to assist with any questions at (800) 922-1594 (toll free in SC) or 803-734-4200 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding State holidays. You can also email general questions to scdca@scconsumer.gov

SCDCA maintains public records that are available for review, upon request, in accordance with the state's Freedom of Information Act. In addition, SCDCA follows the Family Privacy Protection Act and any other applicable state and federal laws when reviewing and fulfilling requests for records.


Make a Request

SCDCA's Public Education and Information Division coordinates requests for information. You can submit a FOIA Request Form online or download the (PDF) and submit via the following:

Redaction Fee $25.00 per hour
Scanning Hard Copy Files Fee (26 pages or more) $25.00 per hour
Downloading Electronic Files Fee $25.00 per hour
Hard Copies  (26 pages or more) $.25 per page

No fees will be charged for documents that require negligible time to gather and scan or copy.
