You can file a complaint and submit applications for licensing online. Filings you do not wish to make, or that are not available, online can be submitted via mail for processing.
Department staff is available to assist with any questions at (800) 922-1594 (toll free in SC) or 803-734-4200 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding State holidays. You can also email general questions to scdca@scconsumer.gov.
COLUMBIA, S.C. - Get your file boxes ready, because the South Carolina Department of Consumer Affairs (SCDCA) is celebrating National Consumer Protection Week (NCPW) from March 2-6, 2020 with a series of statewide shred days. The week will also include a free webinar and the release of a new publication on credit reports. SCDCA will partner with Shred360 to offer the following free events:
Consumers should not bring more than three (3) file boxes to shred. Once in line, consumers should not park or exit their vehicles; this will help the line move as quickly as possible.
SCDCA will also offer a free webinar “Credit Reports: What They Are and Why They Matter”on Thursday, March 5 at 2 p.m. Come learn the basics of credit reports including how the report is used, what's on it and credit myths. Register here to watch/listen from any computer.
