Richland County High School Awards SCDCA Business Partner of the Year

Tue, 05/07/2019

COLUMBIA, S.C. - Dreher High School awarded the South Carolina Department of Consumer Affairs (SCDCA) the 2018-2019 Business Partner of the Year. The awards are created and presented by the Richland District One Career and Technology Education (CATE) department, which support and oversees all aspects of CATE local, state and federal regulations and policies. CATE programs give students the opportunity to receive college credits, state and nationally recognized industry certifications, internships, advanced technical and leadership skills.

Each school in Richland District One nominated a business that they work with throughout the year and SCDCA is honored to receive this award. Consumer Affairs is proud to partner with South Carolina middle and high schools for internship opportunities and are continually traveling the state to provide free education on identity theft, scams and financial literacy. “One of our main goals is to educate as many consumers in the state as possible and that includes students of all ages,”Bailey Parker, SCDCA communications director, said.

SCDCA give presentations to everyone, including small businesses, teachers, schools, PTA groups, church groups and more. If you are interested in having someone come and give a presentation or to partner with your school or public group, head over to SCDCA's website for more information or fill out a presentation request form here.
