Athlete Agents

The Uniform Athlete Agents Act, originally enacted in 2004, was updated in 2018. It requires anyone engaging in certain activities with or on behalf of student athletes to file for a registration as an athlete agent with the S.C. Department of Consumer Affairs. The filing fee is $1,500.00 per agent and the renewal filing fee is $700.00 per agent.  NOTE: Out-of-state registration fees will be increasing in the future pursuant to the new law (Act 35).

Initial and renewal filings are now available on the Department's new online licensing system!
